I have been watching Epsilon Aurigae since mid September and it is definitely fainter than eta Aur (mag 3.25 I reckon). In April/May when I last was able to observe it properly, it was definitely brighter, ie at its normal mag 3.0 It is expected to reach min brightness (max eclipse) by December/Jan, when it will rival zeta Aur. Keep watching this star and get photos of it!
